Marcus Lamar Wright
& Company that is

If they ever play each other? Marcus is who I'm rooting for 24/7.
Don't EVER get that twisted.

1/18/08: Headlines could read that Georgia Tech scooped Marcus from
Tulsa... but that's not really what went down. The truth is, I don't have permission to tell the story but just
suffice it to say that a Tulsa coach appeared to be disingenuous and minds were changed because of that fact. I met one of the Tulsa coaches and wanted also to
meet the GT coaches so I spent my own dimes and flew to Atlanta this past week to interact, interject and show my support
in more ways than mere website words.
I am so grateful for the opportunity to make the trip and meet the coaches because
I believe that even though they snatched Marcus at the last second, Georgia Tech is indeed the best choice for Marcus based
on the people that will be teaching and mentoring him as well as the excellent academic atmosphere and opportunity available.

The first coach we met was Coach Spence, who came from Navy with
the head coach. He was a friendly guy who often says, "Are you with me?" when he tells you about whatever's going on.
He's hard to forget and whenever I get his first name I'll post it.
Next we met former Detroit Lion and Carolina Panther running
back, now author and current team Chaplain Derrick Moore. Here was a guy who meant every word that came out of his mouth. You already know I liked him because THAT'S
how I am... all the time, plus he reminded me of my main driver, Aubdo Dickson. Aubdo and Derrick are both preachers, neither
riding a high horse just because they choose to take the high road in career choices. They are both regular people (like
me) and that's primarily WHY we get along so well.
Then we met all the other coaches while standing in the hallway waiting
to meet new Head Coach Paul Johnson. The first thing I noticed about Coach Johnson was that he reminded me of Texas Head Coach Mack Brown around the eyes
especially. They really don't look anything alike but still... I had a feeling. Sure enough, they're both from
North Carolina and are good friends.
Hmmm, maybe it's like Marcus will play at East Coast Texas at Georgia
Tech? Well that's how I'll look at it.
