Rev. Wright Proved That Some People Don't Know
WHEN To Shut Up
4/30/08
If Rev. Wright had not shown himself to be the fool on Monday at
The National Press Club, my next comparison might be seen by many as blasphemous. Still I see "some" of the comments
attributed to him as legitimate even though he is starting to remind me of ... ahem... Rush Limbaugh.
Jeremiah Wright and Rush Limbaugh uttered in the same vein IS blasphemy
no matter whose side you are on.
When Reverend Wright appeared to come out to "defend" his honor
as a man at the NAACP dinner in Detroit, I understood exactly where he was supposed to be coming from.
I felt that his speech was provocative and inspiring and presented many ways to look at life between the races that many of
us rarely would've considered. I thought it was great and I still do yet HOWEVER brilliant he was on THAT point does
not mean he is brilliant on all the rest. The can be said for Mr. Limbaugh.
Reverend Wright put his foot in his mouth and let his "other"
personality... the CRAZY UNCLE personality... take over the microphone that the press jutted before him and he proceeded to
speak outlandishly and profess things like "All Black people listen to Lewis Farrakhan whether they agree with him
or not."
I never listen to Minister Farrakhan and
I don't know very many people who do.
Judging from his actions he likely thought from all the negative
media but positive Black attention he has been getting, "I can say anything and this will help my future book sales OR
I am going to make Obama sorry he ever dissed me." You already KNOW the latter is probably more true than the first.
Like Reverend Write said, I agree that in most cases
DIFFERENT does not mean DEFICIENT yet in Reverend Wright's case it appears to me that HE is the one who is deficient
because it is clear that he is not Obama's friend even though Obama was his.
This happened to me also. I had a friend that I looked after
to the point where whenever I was involved in a new "deal" making money I wanted him to find a way to also prosper. The problem
was that although I was looking out for him, he was looking out for himself too and not thinking about me. He had the
mentality where he felt that since I had so much more than he, I should GIVE him things for free. That's crazy.
I have no control over crazy people and apparently Mr. Obama doesn't either.
Like Hillary, Reverend Jeremiah Wright doesn't know WHEN to quit
and in other words, when to SHUT UP. I see him as becoming synonymous with the proverbial crab in the basket,
the back-stabbing friend, the guy you cannot trust and yes, even the UNCLE TOM that he will swear that he isn't.
Actions speak louder than words.
This morning my wife commented that Reverend Wright is "Going Against
The Group" and is basically only for himself. I agreed with her that he is for himself but asked, "What Group?
There's a group? I don't belong to any group!"
Did we all come over here together? Did we all sign a pact, cut
our fingers and become blood-brothers or something?
What Group is she referring? Truthfully there is NO GROUP
and can't be because we all want different things. We all have different goals and different agendas and some of us
ARE deficient because of these differences too. For while one segment of the population may want prosperity another
might want to just keep them from attaining it. Don't get it twisted, there ARE evil people in this world. As
President Bush coined best the words "EVIL-DOERS" exist with apparently some hiding behind the robes of
God. There, I said it and do you think Rev. Write will say I am also playing the Dozens? I don't play, remember?
I mean what I say and I'm not taking it back.
Ask yourself, are all of Obama's supporters just Black people?
Are all Black people for Obama? Is Obama Black enough to understand that Black people think he's with them all the way?
God I hope not.
That's controversial what I just said... All of it but I am
neither a preacher nor a politician... although I do both from time to time... We all do.
Yesterday I told a friend of mine that he was a toy Christian because
he did not "LIVE" his proclaimed faith. Last month I wrote a couple of sermons and posted them online here, no matter
that most of you likely pick thru my stories and ignore the meat of what I project. Still at least I doubt I put
you to sleep while passing collection plates or ask you to sign a guest book.
I figure that Reverend Wright is wrong on many levels but should
be overlooked as much as that crazy uncle that is locked in the attic away from the presence of house guests. Not even
related to Mr. Obama, he is simply an embarrassment to all of us who happen to agree in principle to some of what he has said
in the past. I admit it. I liked "some" of what he said. But you already know, I like President Bush and
I also have agreed on some of the things Rush Limbaugh espoused as well. I try to be independent.
I think the key is to keep an open mind around people who know
when to keep a closed mouth. THAT sounds like a good plan while traveling the high road.
