President Obama always took the HIGH ROAD even when we all knew that under the pressure he
was under MOST of us would've cracked and lost our composure.
It feels like a dream because up until today it has only been one for people of any color in
this country from day one with George Washington crossing the Potomac. No Latin, Asian or Black mix or pure (is anyone pure?)
has EVER been elected by the people to lead. NEVER EVER EVER Before. NEVER. Let that sink in.
We helped build this country, died for this country, pay into this country and love this country...
ALL of US... Black, Asian, Latin, White, Mixed. We all breathe the same air, walk the same streets (those of us brave
or naiive enough that is), basically want the same things from life yet we are of course also divided. There are people
who are so stupid and jealous that they will rather burn their own house than share it with a neighbor who only wants to help
them fix it. There are people in America who think they are TRUE Christians like this... I actually know some.
It makes me sick. I know a guy who claims he is "afraid" of Obama but he cannot cite any real reasoning except junk
from Rush Limbaugh... "Nobody but fools espouse the dribblings of other fools" I told him and I said it with ummph!
It's crazy because he has no fear of a candidate who may think Africa is a country. Nor does he have a problem with doing
business with me the last 30 years and taking my money. He's not too afraid of me but he is afraid of Obama?
We've been friends for 30 years and I just found out he's a bigot. Now I need to make
sure he knows that he is one before I give up on him..
Then there is the news media asking the same worn out questions about "Did you think you would
ever see a Black President?" of people that can only answer one way. Why don't they go ask some of the happy and proud
White people who helped elect him that question... especially since Obama is HALF WHITE. It's as if they want to trivialize
his mixed race and focus only on BLACK. The fact that he was raised by White people seems to escape them. He is
a true African-American which is why he doesn't crack under the pressure... It does not apply to him.
Look at it this way You grow up in New Orleans and you believe in Voodoo. You move away.
One day somebody throws some chicken blood on your door or what have you and it effects you because you know what that means;
you understand the ominous significance. Now if you do that to me I am not effected and go on about my business because
I don't believe in voodoo. Now take President Obama. He did not grow up BLACK, hasn't experienced the blatant, hurtful
and never apologized for racist stuff all the rest of us have endured, doesn't know that there are snakes under the bed
and so it goes right by him.
Which also explains why he could sit in that Chicago church and not hear that silly preacher...
He wasn't listening...It never happened to him.
Now today, proud that WE finally get to see that all things are possible and there is no boundary to
prevent US from being and doing whatever we aspire, I am glad that he doesn't know because if he did he could not be there.
The bitterness would've stopped him from ever getting out of the gate... The same bitterness that has stopped all before him.
You know it's the truth.
Obama of course is so far above this and like all the other mess he brushed away, this too
shall pass because there is work more important than this. Much more important.
And still I am proud.
