The AD: Very rare Mark IV, 1972, is a one year only, without the federal req, safety bumpers
on the front or rear. This year has the smoothest flowing design. This car is one of the two prettiest years Lincoln ever
built. White exterior, Burgundy interior.
4 new Goodyear tires, new transmission, this car is in very good mechanical
shape, and can be driven any where...

Stop yourself before you say something stupid... Why did I buy so many?
The answer is "They are so beautiful so why not?"
Actually I started out looking for a WHITE or BLACK or ORANGE 1972 Mark IV. I am still
looking but you must understand the criteria: It must be low mileage and in great almost show quality condition. No
I don't necesarilly want to SHOW them... they are just for me. I want to be the one impressed. It's personal.
In 1972 my mother was trading her 1967 Caprice and because she was good friends of Roy Butler
(the Mayor at the time and the local Lincoln-Mercury and Rolls Royce dealer) she was looking at cars there. I fell in
love with the lines of the 72 Mark but the price was out of her range and she settled on a huge 1972 Gold Grand Marquis Brougham
land cruiser.
Later I bought a 1973 Mark IV and sold it to my good friend Abraham Hill (Joe's dad).
So that was my first Mark IV even though I didn't keep it very long.
When I got married I bought my wife a Cranberry colored with Black leather interior and moonroof 1990
Mark VII and we kept it for 5 years (a pretty long tenure for any car I drove). Now we have GM cars that she drives.
I don't drive anymore... Glaucoma.
So now you ask, "Why buy cars that you cannot drive?" Well, do you ask old WHITE Car
Collectors WHY they have 100s of cars in storage that they obviously cannot drive? No. People rarely will ask them.
But me they think it's OK to ask because I should only have one.
"Because I can" is the answer.
